VRI Medical Alert System Monitoring Centers:
Our Multiple Facilities
VRI maintains 2 facilities for doing the monitoring. These buildings receive power from 2 different power companies and from 2 different telephone central offices. The purpose is to assure you that VRI is always in a position to respond to your calls as needed. Our Progress Road facility as our primary location has complete redundancy of all functions, note the large generator located on the side of the building. There is nothing to prevent us to continue functioning in this facility short of a forced evacuation, chemical spill, attack, and etcetera. In the event we are forced out of the building, we have a fully functional and redundant site, the Main Street facility, which is used for our extensive training program and when we are forced out of the Progress Road location.
As they say, anything can happen, and we are at the ready prepped to take care of your calls when you have the need. Don't be fooled by those folks out there who don't even operate a response center or hype the use of multiple monitoring centers. The fact is those centers aren't linked and there is no way to move the data needed from one to the other. All of our data is replicated to our back-up, always. By having a second center that is just sitting there we can have staff there in minutes and have all the calls routed there in seconds. If you have 2 centers that are both being utilized but at locations across the country, neither center maintains the staffing or capacity to handle all the calls going into 1 center at one time.
